I need help with my book, religion thing about a 2 week holiday for soldiers, peasants, royalty, anyone in it?

ok, so this is what i have so far, its like two weeks where once a day you drink a sip of wine, a seventh of a cup at most, even children, and you consume two cups yourself in the two weeks, and for the two weeks you eat nothing, do nothing, not even sleep, and just sit there in the sun, thinking, and on the fourteenth day you go to the blood Adobe (a kind of church for the religion, its called blood adobe because, 1, its an adobe, 2, the priest cuts himself over the steps and lets the blood stay there) and eat with the priest and tell him what they saw one at a time, i need some help, is that a good religious holiday for a castle-age fantasy book? im not saying the name, but if you have anything you could comment about it, please say so, good or bad. and yes, the people sometimes die from lack of food, that's why you eat with the priest, priests eat good in any place, even in the tiny villages, because your incredibly hungry, and the wine makes you somewhat intoxicated, but no one knows that yet... they don't know about getting drunk in my books
