Why won't my ipod touch let me turn on WiFi?

Every time I go into Settings the WiFi "tab" is gray and it won't let me click on it and says "No WiFi". I've tried resetting the Network Settings, but nothing happens. How can I get WiFi back on my Ipod touch? Please aide!
