Is my music going to delete?

i have an ipod touch third generation and i'll have had it for a year now on may fourteenth i think? but so far it has 555 songs on it and most were saved on my parents computer but they bought a new one and now all the itunes stuff is gone. i have a laptop i just got so if i plug my ipod into it with a new itunes will it delete all my stuff? if it does, what can i do to prevent that? thanks,(:
