I want to ask this boy out on Valentine's Day, but I'm a little shy.?

Alright, so there's a pretty hot guy I really like and want to know if he likes me, but I have been too shy to ask him out (I've had a crush on him since about November/December.) I noticed he looks at me a lot in the two classes I have with him, but I wanna know what he really thinks about me. Should I ask him out or just wait? Or ask if he likes me back?
