How can I get into the medical field? What school in Atlanta?

Hello. I am a senior, public relations student who just discovered that I really want to work as a health practitioner. I graduate in December and will be going back to Atlanta. What school should I enroll in there to quickly earn a degree or diploma that will allow me to gain hands on experience with patients. I thought about medical assisting, EMT and nurses aide but most of the schools that offer those degrees are technical schools and I have heard negative things about education from those institutions. My ultimate goal is to become a physician's assistant but I need experience to apply to a master's program for that profession. Any suggestions?
